AFC Hayes picked up their first home win of the season when they beat fellow strugglers Winchester City 4-1 in the British Gas Business League Division One South and West.

Tuesday night's action saw Jay Pereira put Hayes ahead on 37 minutes before a converted penalty right on the stroke of half time put bottom side Winchester back on level terms.

In the second half AFC finally took control of the match and romped to only their second win of the season with three goals in the last 11 minutes. Dean Clark netted twice and new signing Dave Tilbury added the fourth.

AFC now sit third from bottom in the table above Winchester and Taunton Town. They have also bolstered their squad with the signing of Dean Papali on a month's loan from Wealdstone.
