Stanmore earned just their second win of the season on Saturday to take them out of the relegation zone in the Middlesex ECB Premier League.

Despite losing the toss and being put into bat first they toppled league leaders Teddington after a commanding display.

They got off to a great start as Omar Anwar raced to 75 with Alistair Fraser adding 52 to the total.

In their 65 overs Stanmore set an impressive total of 264 as they declared with three wickets in hand.

A united team effort in the field then limited the visitors to 230 as Stanmore took 10 points from the title challengers in just over 60 overs.

The points lifted the side above fellow strugglers Southgate and they will now be looking to build on the result when they welcome bottom of the league Brentham on Saturday.

The second team were unlucky not to walk away from their match with Teddington with the full 10 points as they fell four runs short in their winning draw.

Stanmore won the toss and chose to field, restricting the home side to 211 in 54.1 overs. However, they fell just short as they posted 207 for 9 in their 51 overs

The points lift Stanmore above Teddington and into third place.

Stanmore thirds, however, were unable to keep up the winning ways as they were comprehensively beaten at home by league leaders Ealing.

Ealing put the home side in bat after winning the toss and despite declaring on 167 for 6 Stanmore's bowlers were unable to restrict the visitors.

The table toppers hit the target in less than 30 overs as they stormed to victory by nine wickets. The defeat leaves Stanmore placed just four points off the relegation zone.
