MIDDLESEX COUNTY LEAGUE DIVISION TWO
Harrow Town 78 all out
Harrow Town lost by 161 runs
HARROW Town’s batting frailties continued as they crashed to a 161-run defeat to Uxbridge on Saturday.
Town are in deep trouble in Division Two, sitting just four points off bottom-placed Ickenham, and they slipped further into the relegation mire with Saturday’s heavy defeat.
Dilon Heylinger smashed 80 off 70 balls as Uxbridge managed to score 239-6 off 55 overs at the crease.
Kamlesh Desai (4-92) was the pick of the Town bowlers as the away side left themselves with it all to do in the chase.
And the mountain was made even bigger when Town’s opener, Vish Jadunath, was out cheaply for four after being clean bowled by John Somerville-Hendrie (3-24).
From there it was a dismal batting collapse, as Town were dismissed for just 78. Only Ammar Arshad (25) showed any fight as the rest of batsmen were in and out in a flash.
This week, Town host Southgate and know they need to start winning games fast if they are to avoid dropping down to Division Three next season.
Meanwhile, Arshad will represent Town in this Sunday’s Super Over Finals at the John Lyon School Playing Fields when he takes on Sohan Modi of Old Merchant Taylors’.
Super Over is a one-on-one competition looking to find London’s best club cricketer. Clubs from around the capital have nominated their top all-rounders, and the finalists were decided by an online vote.
