Division Three: Uxbridge 176-3 (10pts) Beat Bessborough 172 (0pts) By Seven Wickets

GRAHAM Lines winkled out the middle and lower order to set Uxbridge on the way to their second win of the season, at home to Bess-borough.

Bessborough lost their first four wickets for 33 but as they produced better resistance with contributions right down the order, spin bowler Lines went to work.

He claimed the six remaining wickets to finish with an excellent six for 57 from 17.2 overs as Bessborough were bowled out for 172.

Ryan Connor (3-41) and Steven Wright (1-43) did the early damage before Lines took charge.

Uxbridge had plenty of time to bat but they did not waste any of it as Nick Hardy (18) and Andre Jason opened with a solid stand worth 46. Jason struck nine fours on his way to 50 from 63 deliveries, breaking the back of the run chase in a partnership of 86 with Bal Mangat.

Although Riz Dar (1) missed out, Tony Stephens joined Mangat and hit one six and four boundaries in a run a ball 26 not out, to wrap up a seven-wicket win. Mangat remained to top score on 67 not out from just 75 balls which included six fours and a six. [25a0] The third team picked up four points from a draw winning at Wycombe House.

After losing the toss Uxbridge made a great start with a 70-run opening partnership between Sunny Sandhu and Richard Tinsley and when Nick Dowsett joined Sandhu they continued to score at a good rate before Sandhu misjudged a pull and was caught for 54. Bryan Winson came to the crease and went on to score an unbeaten 81, compiling good partnerships of 78 and 91 with Dowsett and Rob Darvill, who both scored 47 to help Uxbridge declare on 289 for five from 49 overs.

Wycombe made a steady start but began to fall behind the required rate and Winson got the breakthrough when Will Spicer held on to a catch at square leg. Two more quick wickets put Uxbridge in control but they failed to take their chances and Punil's a vital unbeaten 95 saw Wycombe to 232 for seven and prevented an Uxbridge win.

Winson finished with five for 71 to complete a fine personal performance.
