SKIPPER Ray Patel dubbed Imran Muhammed the ‘Rolls Royce’ of West Harrow Cricket Club after the bowler’s stunning eight-wicket haul on Saturday.
Patel was ruled out of Saturday’s 311-run annihilation of GWR but watched on from the sidelines in amazement as Muhammed put on a world-class disaply.
The West Harrow star finished with figures of 8-20 to fire his side to victory, but Patel was not too surprised having seen him do it once before.
He said: “This is not the first time he has taken eight wickets, four or five years ago he took nine in one match. He’s the Rolls Royce of West Harrow Cricket Club.
“Aggression is an important part of the game especially for fast bowling, and on the day Imran had plenty of it.
“Imran bowled with brisk pace but he had very good control over the ball.”
Patel is looking forward to leading his table-toppers into battle with second-placed Tower Hamlets this Saturday and believes the clash will decide the destination of the Middlesex Championship Division Three trophy.
“With the title decider this weekend, we are sure it will be very interesting,” he added.
Incredibly, Muhammed was not the only bowler to take eight wickets this weekend as Bhavin Patel matched his feat for Harrow St Mary’s.
Patel made the step up from HSM’s third-string to play for the first against Brondesbury, finishing with figures of 8-65 against the league leaders.
