Parkfield and Headstone had a mixed weekend with two wins and two defeats.

The firsts travelled to Chorleywood II in Saracens League Division Five, and came away with a much needed 111 run win. Vasi Shaikh top scored with a fine 80 not out, Robin Willis (38) and Damian Stalley (35) contributed well, as they brought up 239 for 5 declared in 47 overs.

They then took just 35.3 overs to complete the task, with Ian Schmid 4 for 58 and Robin Willis 3 for 16 being the major wicket takers in Chorleywood's total of 128 all out.

At home, Waseem Saber was the only PHCC second team batsman to make much impression on Ickleford II in Division Nine, making 52 in quick time as Parkfield were bowled out for 132 and Icklefoird lost only three wickets reaching their target.

High flying Parkfield and Headstone thirds got back to winning ways in Division 13, beating Stevenage V by one wicket at Tolpits Lane.

In the Herts County Trophy competition on Sunday, PHCC played host to Hatch End and the game was shortened to 33 overs due to early rain.

Parkfield's Ian Schmid continued his excellent form with another ton, scoring 120 in the home total of 201 for 3. Hatch End lost five wickets in reply, to win with a late surge.
