PARKFIELD & HEADSTONE CC

IAN Shmid was chief destroyer as Parkfield and Headstone swept to a third successive win at home to Knebworth Park III's on Saturday.

Schmid bagged 4-48 as the visitors were dismissed for a below par 162, before some quick-scoring from Waseem Saber allowed the hosts to beat the rain and reach their target in just 29 overs to win by six wickets.

Sadly, neither Craig Rivers' 5-63 nor 40 with the bat from Michael Mandary, could rescue an under-strength second XI from defeat at Datchworth. The hosts reached 246-9 before bowling out P & H for 178 with 11 balls remaining. The thirds tasted defeat at Hemel Hempstead, going down by 19 runs despite Dilip Shah's first ever five-wicket haul for the club.
