MIDDLESEX COUNTY LEAGUE - DIVISION TWO

Brondesbury 175-8

Harrow 49

Harrow lost by 126 runs

MISFIRING Harrow slumped to a heavy home defeat to Brondesbury on Saturday.

Harrow were up against it taking on a team relegated from the Premier Division last term and they failed to rise to the challenge.

Brondesbury took to the crease first and immediately came under attack from the Harrow bowlers, with number two James Overy failing to register a score.

Nathan Cameron was in the mood for Harrow and finished with a four-wicket haul and four maidens on a productive afternoon with the ball.

Darren Crook and Tushaar Karia also did well, claiming two wickets each, as Brondesbury ended their innings at 175-8 in 53 overs.

It was a beatable target but Harrow knew it would not be easy against the Division Two new boys.

And they faltered under the pressure as only Sachin Patel, who smashed 30, reached double figures on a frustrating afternoon for the hosts.

Saad Mohammad-Waqas, Ajay Patdiwala, Karia, Kishan Patel and Cameron all drew blanks in a disappointing innings for Harrow, seeing them skittled out for just 49.

A much-improved performance will be needed against Shepherd’s Bush this weekend.
