Middlesex have been rocked by a members petition citing no confidence in the club's cricket committee.

A letter expressing dissatisfaction in the direction of the club was handed in at Lord's yesterday, backed by around  200 signatures.

It is understood the disenchanted faction of the Seaxes' membership hope the petition will trigger an extraordinary general meeting.

The off-field news stole the focus away from team's first championship win of the season, a six wicket victory over Derbyshire yesterday, in which under fire skipper Ed Smith made 74.
