Middlesex crashed to their second successive heavy County Championship defeat as they lost inside three days to Worcestershire at Lord's yesterday (Thursday).

The home side collapsed to 164 all out in their second innings and Worcestershire then knocked off the runs to claim a 10 wicket win and seriously dent Middlesex's Division two promotion ambitions.

Worcestershire's first innings ended early yesterday on 361, a lead of 61, and they then shot Middlesex out for 164 as spinner Garethy Batty claimed 5 for 33. Only Dawid Malan (52) and Ben Scott (58) offered any real resistance.

Stephen Moore (55) and Daryl Mitchell (48) then helped Worcestershire easily reach their victory target of 104 on the third day of the match.
