Harrow (279-6) beat Enfield (141ao) by 134 runs

HARROW produced the goods to win their first Middlesex County Cricket League game of the season.

After being put in to bat on a very good pitch, Harrow made full use of the excellent batting conditions.

A second wicket partnership of 86 between Waqas Hussein (47) and Luke Quinlivan laid the foundations for a big score.

Quinlivan (73) then combined with Tushar Karia (57) to put on 74 for the third wicket as Harrow reached 178-3 in the 42nd over.

Having kept wickets in hand, Harrow were able to take full toll of a weary Enfield attack on a hot day, with a further 101 runs being scored in the last 10 overs as Karia, Vaghela (30), Crook (30) and Bhupal (25) all contributed quick runs to allow Harrow to declare at 279-6 off 52 overs.

Harrow were then indebted to an inspired spell of bowling from Darren Crook, who with great skill and commitment bowled unchanged from the start of the Enfield innings to produce career best figures of eight for 61.

The performance was all the more remarkable as this is one of the most batsman friendly pitches in the league. Enfield were bowled out for 141 in 31 overs as Harrow climbed off the foot of the table.

On Sunday Harrow lost to Brentham by 70 runs in the Middlesex Cup.

Having reduced Brentham to 128-7, Harrow let their advantage slip as Brentham recovered to post 204 all out thanks to an eighth wicket partnership of 64 between Patel (53) and Brandreth (20).

In reply Harrow collapsed from 60-3 to 134 all out, with Tushar Karia scoring 61.

Harrow II's woeful run continued as they were put to the sword by Highgate. Opener David Morris top scored with 43 while Shazad

Shah was run out for 38.

Several batsmen fell cheaply, none more so than the tail-enders, with just 10 runs mustered between three players as Harrow crashed to 140 all out.

Highgate easily knocked off the runs in 37.2 overs, with the four wickets shared between David Hall, Monty Jivraj, Steve Clarke and Vikash Seth.
