MIDDLESEX COUNTY LEAGUE DIVISION TWO
Brondesbury 179-8 (54 overs)
Harrow 170-8 (46 overs)
Winning draw for Harrow
HARROW earned a winning draw against second-placed promotion hopefuls Brondesbury at the weekend.
The battling Harrow players stuck it out in the heat in an extremely tight match which neither side deserved to lose.
Brondesbury won the toss and decided to bat, although opener Hugh Gimber would have wished for a different outcome when he was sent packing for five.
James Overy (41) and Simon Butler (42) built up a solid partnership that was undone by the bowling of Kirit Mohane and Tushaar Karia respectively.
Ajay Patdiwala also chipped in with three well-taken wickets to help restrict Brondesbury to a score of 179-8 after 54 overs.
Much like Brondesbury’s number one, Harrow opener Darren Crook failed to settle at the crease and was dismissed for just four.
But Pritesh Vaghela (41) and Patdiwala (30) helped get the chase back on track and Harrow finished up 170-8 after 46 overs to claim a winning draw.
Elsewhere, Wembley enjoyed a massive nine-wicket triumph over Edmonton and Kenton were defeated by 110 runs by Indian Gymkhana in Division Three.
