HOME COUNTIES PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION TWO

Harefield 142-6

Great and Little Tew 139 all out

Harefield won by four wickets

THE wickets were shared around in a powerful display on Saturday.

Dan Evans (pictured) and Dale Morris took three each and Chamunorwa Chibhabha claimed four as Harefield ran out four-wicket winners in their Division Two match.

With Great and Little Tew taking to the crease in blazing sunshine, a big score was expected in ideal conditions for batsmen.

But Evans had other ideas and started at a blistering pace, clean bowling the away side’s three openers in no time at all.

Chibhabha was next to destroy the stumps, bowling Curtly Slatter, and later claimed three more scalps on a good day with the ball for Harefield.

The last of his victims was Ian Bryan, who was caught LBW for a duck, and Great and Little Tew had to settle for just 139 runs on the board after 46 overs.

Despite the low target, the heat was more than enough of an obstacle for Harefield in the run chase.

Simon Macey made a good start at the crease, putting on 22 runs from 32 balls, but partner Adam Cossins failed to register a score after facing five balls.

After a slight wobble, Akshay Reddy (35) and Ollie Richards (40 not out) got things back on track.

And Lee Tyrell (22 not out) helped his side over the line with just six men down.
