Harefield 139-8

Match drawn

THE points were shared as Harefield travelled to Reading on Saturday.

Adam Cossins scored a half-century, but Reading were on form too as Praful Waghela smashed 104 runs off 122 balls to lay down the gauntlet.

Harefield won the toss, electing to bowl, and Waghela made them pay as he led the hosts to a 199 score.

Harefield could only put 139 on the board in reply, but they held on to their last two wickets to claim a battling draw.

Elsewhere, Northwood Town pulled off a spectacular 32-run victory over Old Elizabethans as Dom Whyley produced a magical spell of 6-29 to stun the promotion chasers in front of a jubilant Town roof terrace.

Sangeet Patel was the stand-out batsman as Northwood Town posted 198 off their 53 overs, returning to form with an exceptional 53 off 48 balls to set up the Town victory in Hertfordshire Cricket League Division Four.

Northwood were beaten by three wickets against Holtwhites Trinibis in Division Two.
