A strong all-round performance from Tony Parker couldn't save Old Isleworthians & Heston from a heavy loss to Clapham Xaverians on Saturday.

Parker, returning to the side after being unavailable so far this campaign, made 36 and took three wickets - but OI&H were hammered with more than 15 overs to spare.

The day had started promisingly, with Parker and Phil Mountford adding 52 for the first wicket after winning the toss in the AJ Sports Surrey League Division One clash.

Mountford went on to make 40, but it took a quick-fire 32 from skipper Charlie Robinson, including a huge six into a neighbouring garden, to reach 205 all out.

Any chance of winning disappeared, however, when the opening bowling attack of Rob Folley and Trevor Hector took a tousing. Folly's six overs went for 57, while Hector bowled only two at a cost of 25 before being removed from the attack. Parker checked the scoring for a while, taking 3-37 from his 10 overs but, Clapham stormed home in the 30th over, reaching 206-3.
