MIDDLESEX COUNTY CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION ONE

Eastcote 200 all out

Teddington 203-5

Teddington won by five wickets

EASTCOTE were brushed aside by a dominant Teddington side on Saturday.

The visitors suffered a five-wicket defeat at Bushy Park and could not handle the skillful batting of the Teddington players.

Teddington won the toss and put Eastcote in to bat first, which would prove a wise decision, although it appeared to have been a mistake in the early stages.

Tom Scollay hit a respectable 35 to kick things off for the visiting side but his score was only slightly bettered by Ravi Patel (38) as Eascote were dismissed for 200 in 62.1 overs.

With 200 runs on the board to defend, Eastcote had it all to do with the ball against a team enjoying their cricket and thriving in the conditions.

Despite Gurjit Sandhu claiming the wicket of one half of the opening stand for the loss of just one run, Teddington remained calm and ate away at the total.

Dave Goodchild took three wickets but the result never really looked in doubt as Teddington cruised past the total in 54 overs to seal the win.

Meanwhile, the seconds were held to a losing draw by Ealing.

Chris James smashed an unbeaten 83 and was ably supported by Aman Lotay and Ben Frais, but it was not enough as they were forced to settle for a share of the points.

The Eastcote thirds were in much better form as they recorded a convincing eight-wicket victory over Hornsey.
