Bessborough lost to Barnes by seven wickets BESSBOROUGH will have to go back to the drawing board after being pummelled into submission by Barnes.
After a delayed start, Bessborough were put into bat and quickly lost in-form Phil Bush.
Rupert Thacker and Sherrick Chavda then started a recovery, putting on 67 for the second wicket with sensible batting.
Thacker was dismissed for 49 and Chavda made 35, while wicket-keeper Wayne Whitson did the same. Bessborough were sitting pretty at 135-3 but lost their final seven wickets for only 17 runs.
In reply Barnes tore through the bowling to reach the target for the loss of three wickets in 31.2 overs. Tom Bruce was their star, hitting 71.
Bessborough travel to Hornsey this Saturday.
The second string, meanwhile, gained a losing draw at Wembley.
Wembley batted first and made 203 for four off 42 overs.
Bessborough were never in the hunt for victory making 134 for six off 44 overs, although captain Adil Parker struck a quickfire 53.
