Lady Bankes Junior and Breakspear Junior were male and female winners respectively of this year's Hillingdon Borough Youth Cricket Tournament.

More than 300 children from  30 different schools took part in the event, which was organised by the Hillingdon Youth Cricket Alliance and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Uxbridge.

The Girls Tournament took place at Harefield Cricket Club on Monday and was won by Breakspear Junior School, before the main event took place at Ickenham Cricket Club on Wednesday.

Winners: Lady Bankes Junior with The Clive Radley Perpetual Challenge Cup

This was won for the third year running by Lady Bankes Junior, who won an exciting final against Cranford Park Academy to lift the trophy once more.

Event organiser Philippa Constable, assistant director of community and outreach, impressively juggled with six matches going on at any one time to get through over 50 games.

Winning Team Lady Bankes are now eligible to play in the National Youth Cricket Tournament held in Regents Park during the coming week.
