Middlesex have scored their fifth cricketing success over Essex in as many weeks.

Following on from the county sides wins over their near-neighbours in the Friends Provident Trophy, County Championship and Twenty20, The Middlesex County Cricket League beat the Essex League on Thursday too.

Ben Claypole took 4-20 as Middlesex reduced Essex to 160-9 in the one-day CCC Inter-League clash, before Nick Jones' unbeaten 74 saw Middlesex home, finishing on 164-5.

Teddington still top the Middlesex Premier, despite a shock defeat to basement side Brentham on Saturday, who bowled them out for 120 after Brentham themselves were skittled for 145.

In Division Two, Twickenham came home from Acton with a winning draw while Richmond won by three wickets at South Hampstead.

Teenager Gurjit Sandhu's knock of 85, ably assisted by Ben Taylor's 66, saw Wycombe House claim the best of a draw at Barnet Bs.

Meanwhile, in the Surrey Cricket League, Old Isleworthians & Heston eased to victory over Old Wimbledonians.
