A CALAMITOUS batting collapse early on led to inevitable defeat for lacklustre Harrow.

Reduced to a humiliating six for five, Harrow were never going to recover from such a shambolic start, with the top order giving away their wickets through a combination of poor shot selection and execution.

A seventh wicket partnership of 37 between Suk Bhupal (31) and Pritesh Vaghela (33) was the best they could managed as they meekly folded for 105 in only 34.2 overs.

Acton had little difficulty in knocking off the runs for the loss of only two wickets within 22 overs, as Harrow suffered a woeful defeat by tea, which leaves them firmly rooted to the bottom of the table.

The seconds put up a brave fight in their defeat to Shepherd's Bush. Batting first Harrow declared on 267 for five with Graeme Overy scoring a superb 109.

He was well supported by Steve Clarke (77) and David Morris (40).

It looked to be enough with Shepherd's Bush on 20 for two, but they put in a great batting performance to eventually reach the target with two balls to spare.

David Hall, in his first match for Harrow, took three for 54.

The third team picked up another 10 points with another victory, this time at home to Southgate.

Put in to bat Harrow reached 270 all out, with Anil Karia scoring a battling 83. Southgate made a poor start and with the score on 40 for five struggling, but they made a decent attempt, reaching 235. Harrow went four points clear at the top of the table.
