It didn't all go to plan when Trifle was born.

This adorable young Staffie was born as a hermaphrodite, meaning the pup has both male and female private parts (I'll leave Jackie to explain more when you meet her).

Suffice to say I met Trifle several times before I knew this. It's not obvious.

Possibly due to the hormones from different genders, Trifle can be reactive to other dogs and other dogs can react to her but NAWT are hopeful this may improve.

Setting aside where Trifle's body parts are, her spirit is in the right place and she is looking for a really loving home to give her a chance to live life to the full.

She has great potential and already knows the commands sit, down and paw. If you would like to home this special Staffie, meet her at NAWT, Tyler's Way, Watford-by-pass.

Bazaar coming next week

The 38th Ealing Animal Welfare Bazaar is nearly here - and I can't wait. Everyone is invited.

For those who have been before, many favourites will be there such as Hen Heaven, The Mayhew Animal Home, Hounslow Animal Welfare Society and Dogs Trust.

But there will also be charities there for the first time, such as Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue and Soi Dog Foundation who rescue animals in Thailand particularly from the dog meat trade.

The Bazaar is a wonderful opportunity to meet lots of animal charities and buy bargains and gifts from their stalls. There is also a fantastic programme of talks including presentations by Sea Shepherd, Animals Asia and Save the Asian Elephants.

The Mayor of Ealing will be there plus Steve Pound MP and the Euro MEPs Jean Lambert and Dr Charles Tannock.

Another popular charity there will be National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT). Behind their stall will be Jackie De Friez, manager of its busy re-homing centre in Watford.

Besides selling lots of goodies, you can talk to Jackie about re-homing one of their animals or if you want to know more about working or volunteering with animals. If all goes to plan, Jackie's stall will be in front of the stage in the Main Hall.

The Bazaar takes place on Saturday March 5 (10.30am-4pm) at Hanwell Methodist Church, Church Rd, London W7 1DJ. More details on the Animal Welfare Bazaar website. Admission is free.
