A total of 80 people jumped for joy in Acton on Wednesday (July 20) as part of a Guinness World Record attempt.

At Oxygen Freejumping in Kendal Avenue, the revellers bounced for five and a half minutes with people from other Oxygen centres in the country to break the record for most people on trampolines.

The ecstatic jumpers involved were among over 400 children elsewhere in Wigan, Derby, Southampton and Trafford.

The world record currently stands at 324 people bouncing simultaneously.

It comes as part of a Oxygen's one-year anniversary on Wednesday (July), with a series of interconnected trampolines that stretch from floor to ceiling inside its main hall.

Following the attempt, Oxygen's Roger Jones said: "I thought it was amazing. I thought everyone bounced beautifully."

Trampolinists in Acton brace themselves for a World Record attempt

Since opening last year, Acton's Oxygen has welcomed around 360,000 visitors to its first park in Acton.

CEO of Oxygen Freejumping, David Stalker, said: "The UK trampoline park sector is still in its infancy but we have worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months to secure sites nationally, broaden and improve our offer and raise standards with the sector."

Oxygen will find out if they are the new world record holders in the coming weeks, once Guinness has confirmed the attempt meets it criteria.
