A woman has been seriously attacked in Northolt just a day after another woman was murdered.

An Asian woman was seen with blood pouring down her head and all over her hands outside a home in Wood End Gardens on Wednesday night (May 28).

She said she had been hit her over the head with a dining chair after an argument.

Witnesses say the police and ambulance were on the scene an hour later.

A neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I heard a woman screaming outside in the street.

“I went out to find an Asian woman screaming for help, her hands were covered in blood and blood was pouring down the back of her head and hair.

“Lots of the neighbours had come out before the police and ambulance arrived.

“Some Asian ladies had come across to console her, as they spoke her language, and shortly after several family members who rent a house nearby came running up the road.

“They put a towel over the area she had been injured and she was taken to hospital at around 11.30pm.”

This incident happened the night after a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 38-year-old woman in Merton Avenue, Northolt.

The man has now been charged with murder.

MP for Ealing North, Steve Pound, has said that the tragic murder and the latest assault should not lead anyone to think there is something wrong in the area.

He said: “It is a terrible truth that such horrors can occur anywhere but for me the fact that in both cases the local community rallied round to support the families and their neighbours proves that this is a good community.

“Local people should have our sympathy, understanding and support but it is in times of trial that the best show their colours and that is the case in Merton Avenue and Wood End Gardens.”
