There is a washing machine with legs poking out of the top in Harrow.

Think we've lost the plot? Hear us out.

Euronics Capital Repairs, which has been in Rayners Lane for 22 years, first placed the bizarre advertisement outside its store 15 years ago.

Staff used a pair of jeans over two pieces of wood for the legs, with white trainers on the top.

Owner Gary Pearce, who has run the business since it began in 1986, said it is supposed to resemble a man who has fallen into a washing machine.

Alternatively, Mr Pearce added it can be perceived as a man reaching into the unit to collect a pair of socks.

He said: "It was just an advertisement really to get catch peoples attention.

"It was quite unusual and people laughed at it, a lot of people take pictures of it, they think it is quite amazing.

"(It's) A wooden structure with trousers and a pair of trainers.

"He fell in it, or he's reaching for a pair of socks."
