A woman who escaped from a mental health unit in Ealing has been found.

Met police launched a search on August 8 after Safia Abdi had fled from her carer in Ealing Broadway, at the junction with Spring Bridge Road, at 2pm.

She had been on escorted leave from the Orchard Unit in St Bernard's Hospital.

But officers announced on Sunday (August 14) that the 48-year-old had been located.

The woman had been receiving treatment after being detained under section 37 of the Mental Health Act.

Last month, police released CCTV footage of a 16-year-old girl from Fulham who had been missing for more then three weeks.

Police have confirmed the teenager is still missing and are treating her a high-risk missing person.

Officers are very concerned for her wellbeing.
