A woman was hospitalised on Friday (October 7) following a collision with a bus in Oxford Street.
Metropolitan police said they were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to a road traffic collision near the Duke Street junction.
Officers believe a woman in her 50s was struck by a bus and members of the public described seeing blood on the pavement.
Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of a road traffic collision at Oxford Street and Duke Street.
"A woman believed to be in her 50s had been in collision with a bus. LAS and London's Air Ambulance attended.
"The woman was taken to a central London hospital in a serious condition. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening."
The road was reportedly taped off for three hours.
