A woman freed herself from a man who was sexually assaulting her by stubbing out a cigarette on her assailant.

The incident happened in Westminster on July 16, as the victim walked along Vincent Street at around 12.35am.

The 21-year-old was approached from behind by the man, who grabbed her wrist, groped her and then propositioned her for sex.

The victim tried to run off but was unable to by the suspect, who was pulling her back.

She then stubbed out the cigarette on his hand or wrist before running off and seeking help from a member of the public near to the Royal Oak pub.

The suspect is described as a Somali man aged in his mid to late 20s. He is 5ft 6ins tall with very short, clipper-cut black hair, and was wearing a grey hooded top.

On July 25 a 'revolting' man was jailed for sexually assaulting women on London buses . And a man from Ladbroke Grove was also jailed in July for engaging in sexual activity with a child .
