A woman shot by police during a raid in Willesden last week has been arrested under the Terrorism Act following discharge from hospital.

Police said during an ongoing counter terrorism investigation, armed officers entered an address in Harlesden Road shortly before 7pm on Thursday April 27.

A 21-year-old woman, who is one of the subjects of the investigation, was shot by police and taken to hospital.

She was discharged from hospital this afternoon (Sunday April 30) and has now been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

She has been taken into custody at a south London police station.

Six other people were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorist acts under section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

This includes a 21-year-old man arrested near Harlesden Road, and a 20-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy, a 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman arrested at the Harlesden Road address.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested in Kent.

Warrants of further detention were granted at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday 29 April.

These allow the six suspects to be detained until dates between 2 May and 4 May.

They are currently in custody at a south London Police station.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "The address in Harlesden Road and persons connected with it had been under observation by counter terrorism officers as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation.

"Searches at the address are ongoing, as well as two further searches at linked addresses elsewhere in London."

The incident is not connected with the arrest in Whitehall which happened earlier in the same day, the police said.

The Met Police spokesman said: "In line with established post-incident procedures, the incident has been referred to the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards. This matter has also been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as a matter of course.

The 27-year-old man arrested in Whitehall at 2.22pm on Thursday April 27 following a stop and search as part of an ongoing operation remains in custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
