A cyclist has been seriously injured following a collision with a lorry during the Tuesday (May 16) evening rush hour.
The man has been taken to hospital with injuries described by police as life-threatening following the incident in Wood Lane, near White City .
It happened at around 5.30pm and emergency services were still at the scene some two hours later.
The Met Police said the victim, whose age is unknown, was taken to hospital in a London Air Ambulance.
Wood Lane is closed northbound between South Africa Road and A40 Westway and southbound at the junction with A40 Westway due to the collision.
Westbound on slip onto the A40 from Wood Lane is also closed.
There are delays westbound on the A40 on approach to Savoy Circus.
Transport for London has warned motorists to stay clear of the area.
On Twitter, one user posted a photo of the air ambulance at the scene, but another user said “the entirety of Wood Lane is at a stand still”.
