New images of the £600 million Westfield London extension have been released.

The photos show work taking place on the massive new section of the Shepherd’s Bush shopping centre , as well as more CGIs of how it is expected to look when it opens in March.

A striking rippled see-though roof is one of the highlights of the new building, which will make the shopping centre the largest in Europe.

Excitement over the opening of the bigger and better Westfield has been ramping up this week since it was revealed Primark would be joining John Lewis in the new shopping complex.

The bargain fashion chain will operate from a 70,000 sq ft unit across two floors, and was one of a number of new businesses announced to set up shop within extension.

They include other fashion stores Urban Revivo and Frencheye, beauty specialists Space NK and Urban Decay, lingerie store Bravissimo, Currys PC World, with boutique bowling venue All Star Lanes announced earlier in the year.

A number of other businesses already based at the Ariel Way mall will take advantage of the huge revamp and will move into the extension, it was revealed by Westfield.

Stores upgrading within the new centre include H&M, Boots, Lush, Adidas, Monsoon, Guess and Cath Kidston.

The expansion of Westfield London will create an extra 740,000 sq ft of retail, dining, entertainment and leisure space, bringing the total gross leasable area (GLA) to 2.6m sq ft and number of stores from 360 to 450.
