One driver in Westminster racked up parking fines totalling £35,640 in less than two years, and has yet to pay a penny, figures have revealed.

Another motorist in Ealing amassed an astonishing 540 fines, costing them £24,839, according to a table of parking shame compiled exclusively for getwestlondon .

A remarkable 18 vehicles across west London have each accrued more than 200 fines, according to councils' responses to Freedom of Information requests.

Most of the fines, which all relate to individual vehicles, have been paid.

But in Westminster, four drivers who between them have been issued with 1,017 parking tickets still owe a combined £130,065.

Five of the 10 cars in west London with the most fines were in Kensington & Chelsea .

The single vehicle with the most fines in the UK was in Gateshead, where the driver collected 653 tickets adding up to £55,416 - though they had fully paid up.

None of the drivers or vehicles in question were named by the respective councils.
