London Fire Brigade crews were on hand to tackle a fire at a derelict social club in West Drayton in the early hours of Wednesday (June 7).

Around 20 firefighters, with a total of four fire engines from Hayes, Heathrow and Feltham fire stations, were called to the scene in Sipson Road at 1.35am.

Around a quarter of the building was damaged by the fire, which crews had under control by 4.15am.

A statement from London Fire Brigade said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

The fire comes just over a month after the fire service was called out to a blaze in a caravan park in Cricketfield Road.

Five tonnes of timber and waste had gone up in flames.

It took London Fire Brigade crews nearly two hours to contain the blaze, which broke out near to dozens of traveller homes on the static caravan park.
