It's all about the distance for some singles living in north west London according to new research which reveals single people from Wembley are more prepared to travel to see a partner than singles from anywhere else in the UK.

According to data collected by online dating site eHarmony and Mindshare, one in five singles from Wembley are willing to travel 120 miles or more to find a partner.

In July this year a total of 20,000 online dating profiles of individuals from towns and cities across the UK were analysed to see who is willing to travel that extra mile.

Around 100 profiles were considered in Wembley and other London areas, with less being looked at for smaller areas.

The research also shows those willing to look beyond 10 miles from home increase their chances of finding love by 13% for each extra mile.

Singles in Hounslow , Harrow and Hayes also seem willing to travel for love, coming in equal fourth, sixth and equal seventh respectively.

London on the whole ranks very highly, while singles from areas outside of the capital like Wigan, Stafford and Eastleigh are among the least likely to look far afield to find love with only 6% broadening their search wider than 120 miles.

"It's really encouraging to see some singles are willing to go the extra mile for love."

Spokesman for eHarmony, Rachael Lloyd, commented: "Considering that almost half of online daters initially set their location preferences within 30 miles of home, it's really encouraging to see some singles are willing to go the extra mile for love.

"While we understand that most daters want geographic convenience; our study suggests that simply going further afield by ten or 20 miles can significantly increase romantic options. "

Despite an enthusiasm from some to search far and wide, the figures show UK wide 46.9% of women and 49.3% of women limit their search to within 30 miles of home.
