Images of two men wanted in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault in Wembley have been released by the Metropolitan Police.

The incident allegedly happened on the canal tow path off the Grand Union Canal, Ealing Road, Wembley at 12.38pm on September 10.

A witness was alerted to the incident after hearing a woman’s cry for help on the tow path.

When the witness went to see what was happening they found the victim, a woman in her 50s, in the bushes and partially unclothed, police said in their appeal.

The witness reported seeing two men run from the scene as they approached.

Police are trying to trace these two men and are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen them.

Prior to the incident the victim had been walking along the tow path alone and it is believed she was forced into the bushes and sexually assaulted.

There have been no arrests so far and an investigation by Met's Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command into the incident is ongoing.
