This weekend will be a far cry from the freezing temperatures and snow we experienced last weekend.

It is time to lace up your boots and head outside, because despite the odd patch of rain, it is looking pretty dry for the weekend ahead.

You can even leave your hats and gloves at home, because with highs of 12°C and lows of 7°C, it will feel very mild .

And it does not stop there, on Monday February 20, London could see temperatures of up to 17°C, as warm air is pushed across the Atlantic from the Caribbean and Florida, according to the Met Office.

A spokesman for the Met Office, Ollie Claydon said: "Locally, potentially, could be some spots reaching 17, most likely generally in the mid teens."

The last time we saw temperatures this high in February was five years ago when 17°C was recorded, this falls just short of the record high of 19.7°C recorded in 1998.

This evening (Friday February 17) there may be a chance of drizzle and areas of mist and fog are expected to form.

The Met Office forecast for Saturday, February 18 says: "Cloudy at first with mist and fog. Slowly brightening up in places.

"Mild with mainly light winds. Most parts dry though the odd spot of light rain is possible."

For Sunday, it is a similar story, with the Met predicting: "Staying very mild but breezy at times.

"The best of any brighter spells will be on Sunday and Monday."

So after spending last weekend hibernating under your duvet with a hot chocolate, this weekend it it time to get outdoors and enjoy the dry spells and warmer weather.
