A yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office on Tuesday (July 4) has been updated.

Amid soaring temperatures of up to 30°C in the capital, the Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for rain, which has been reduced in time from 6am on Thursday (July 6) until 2am on Friday (July 6).

The weather warning says: "Isolated thunderstorms are likely to develop across parts of England and Wales from early Thursday morning before clearing by early Friday.

"While these storms may miss many places, where they do develop intense downpours are likely, bringing the threat of sudden flooding of roads, transport routes, homes and businesses"

The forecasters also warn of "lightning and hail" potentially causing additional hazards.

Despite the rather wet forecast, Met Office meteorologist Emma Sharples has told getwestlondon that we can expect highs of 29 to 30°C in London on Thursday.

So if you are planning on heading to Hyde Park to enjoy the British Summer Time festival, you should probably pack both wellies and sun cream as its going to be a mixed bag.
