A murder investigation is under way after a man was stabbed to death in Wealdstone High Street on Monday evening (February 27).

Metropolitan Police officers were called to High Street near the junction with Gordon Road at around 6.50pm.

There they found a man, believed to be 34-years-old, suffering stab wounds.

He was rushed to a central London hospital in a critical condition but was sadly pronounced dead at around 2.30am on Tuesday morning (February 28).

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson, leading the investigation, said: “We believe the area at that time of the stabbing, just before 6.50pm in the evening, would have been very busy with people coming from nearby Harrow and Wealdstone station.

“We are very keen to hear from anyone who was in and around the Wealdstone High Street area that may have seen or heard anything suspicious, especially from anyone who saw people running towards the station.”

The victim's next of kin have been informed, and officers await formal identification.

No one has currently been arrested and enquiries continue.
