Police are hunting for a man in connection with an attack on a woman in which she was punched in the face and had her handbag snatched.

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery that took place in Merrick Road, at the junction with Havelock Road, Southall, on July 10 at 9.20am.

A 28-year-old woman was walking along the road when she was approached by a man, police said.

He attempted to snatch her bag before punching her in the mouth. He then made off with her bag in a red Mitsubishi car, which is believed to be stolen.

The woman received a facial injury during the attack.

The man is described as black, aged in his late 20s, of medium build, approximately 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a hoodie, dark blue jeans and trainers.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.
