A cyclist is fighting for his life after a collision with a lorry in Victoria Street.

The collision occurred at around 11am on Tuesday (July 11) near the junction with Buckingham Palace Road, and both roads were closed off while emergency services responded.

The 40-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital where he is understood to be in a critical condition.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and no arrests were made in connection with the collision.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision in the Victoria area to call investigating officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command on 020 8543 5157.
