An Uxbridge man has been jailed after he was involved in sexual activity with a child.

Billy Scarrott, 20, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child under 16 at Isleworth Crown Court on September 26.

He was sentenced at the same court on December 19 to two years in a young offenders' institution. He must also sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.

The offence happened in the Uxbridge area between July and September 2014.

The crime came to light after the victim's mother discovered what had happened and called the police.

An investigation was launched by officers from the Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, and Scarrott was arrested on September 11, 2014.

He was charged on January 14 2016.

A 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons was also charged on the same day in connection with the investigation.

He pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court to sexual activity with a child and was sentenced to a Youth Rehabilitation Order.
