Uxbridge's discount supermarket Lidl store is reopening on Monday (June 20) after a week long renovation project.

The store in Cowley Road is the first in west London to receive the pampering treatment.

A new bakery has been installed alongside stand up chillers for fruit and veg and a 'wine cellar' section.

Regional director for the chain Joe Kourea, said: “As our strong sales growth continues we are constantly reinvesting into our existing store base, as well as building new store.

“We are very excited to introduce this look to our Uxbridge store and look forward to continuing to serve our multi-award winning products to the local community.”

Lidl was crowned 'grocer of the year' in 2015 at the Grocer Gold Awards.

Similar work is also underway at the Hayes store in Uxbridge Road .
