There has been a heart-warming outcry of support from getwestlondon readers after the Halloween vicious attack in Uxbridge that left the victim bloodied and bruised.

Philippa May was attacked on Monday, October 31 while walking through Uxbridge by a hooded assailant in a lane leading off St John's Road.

The public appeals to find the attacker has sparked a wave of public support online for the 43-year-old.

Deborah Jane said: “That poor lady didn't deserve that you thugs.

“I hope you get caught quick.

“I wish this lady a speedy recovery.”

Andy Southgate said: “I really hope they get this scumbag. I bet he wouldn't try it on a man.”

Debbie Williams said: “Horrendous, hope they catch him. There are not words for animals like this.

“Philippa I really hope you're recovering. Don't let this animal ruin your life.”

The crime awareness group for the Ruislip and Eastcote has also launched a thread for well wishers to show support for Philippa.

There are 21 comments wishing her a quick recovery, hoping she is not hurt in the long term physically and mentally, and wishes that the offender is caught.

The borough commander for Hillingdon has reassured residents that detectives are determined to bring this offender to justice.

Speaking to getwestlondon, temporary borough commander for Hillingdon, Colin Wingrove said: "We've got our Autumn Nights campaign running with additional officers on patrol.

“Just to reassure the public we've got officers out, part of that is to prevent these attacks happening.”
