Hillingdon Police are investigating an 'unexplained' discovery of human skeleton remains on an embankment on the South Ruislip and Northolt border.

Officers attended the scene after they were called at 4pm on Wednesday (March 16) to an undergrowth embankment near Rabournemead Drive, off Field End Road.

Some members of the public reportedly discovered the remains.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The discovery is currently unexplained and it is not known how long the remains have been there or whether the remains are male or female."

Police enquiries ongoing and they are keeping an "open mind" as to the circumstances surrounding the find.

Hillingdon CID have opened the investigation and are being supported by the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

If anyone has any information, Hillingdon officers are urging residents to call police on 101.
