Uber driver allegedly caught with sword near Buckingham Palace faces terror charge

A self-employed Uber driver allegedly caught carrying a large sword near Buckingham Palace appeared in court on Thursday (September 21.)

Mohiussunnath Chowdhury, 26, is charged with preparation of terrorist acts on or before August 25.

The defendant, from Luton, Bedfordshire, appeared before Mr Justice Holroyde at the Old Bailey via video link from HMP Belmarsh for a preliminary hearing.

The hearing was told he faces a trial due to last one week early next year, on a date yet to be fixed.
