The two men arrested on suspicion of murdering a 30-year-old woman who was found dead in Hayes on Saturday (October 22) have been released with no further action.

Pardeep Kaur was found dead on wasteland near the Harlington High Street six days after she went missing.

Ms Kaur was last seen at around 4pm on Sunday October 16 in Harlington High Street but was reported missing when she did not turn up for work as a housekeeper at a Heathrow hotel.

Police are now exploring the possibility that Ms Kaur was attacked on her way to work.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson, who is leading the investigation from the homicide and major crime command, said: “One line of enquiry that my team is progressing as a matter of urgency is that she was attacked by a stranger on her way to work that morning.

“Her body was recovered, concealed, on waste ground very near to the route we know she took to work.

“The investigation is moving quickly but I do want to hear from anyone who saw something that has yet to come forward to tell us what they know.”

DCI Lawson said the Metropolitan Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the Carlton Avenue and Bedwell Gardens area at around 6.30am on Monday, October 17.

Tributes have been paid to the victim on social media by Sikh groups and west London residents.

Two men, aged 30 and 31, were arrested on Wednesday October 19 but were released on Monday (October 24).

Police say they are confident the two men have been ruled out of the investigation.

The post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Tuesday October 25 but the death is being treated as murder.

Ms Kaur's body has not been formally identified but police say they are confident she is the deceased.

No new arrests have been made.
