Two firefighters were taken to hospital after a fire truck crashed into street furniture in Northolt on Friday (April 15).

According to London Fire Brigade (LFB), a fire engine was involved in a road traffic collision in Ruislip Road, Northolt, Ealing, at 4.50am.

The fire engine crashed into street furniture although no other vehicles were involved.

Two firefighters, who sustained minor injuries, were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews.

LFB added that the fire engine, from Southall Fire Station, High Street, was on its way to a car fire in Waterside Close.

But another fire engine was instead sent to the scene, where fire crews quickly brought the fire under control.

LFB said it has launched an investigation into the incident.
