Two men have been charged following a cash machine robbery in Hounslow , which triggered a dramatic police chase .

Thomas Connors, 26, and Michael Moorhouse, 30, both of no fixed abode, were charged with conspiracy to commit commercial robbery on Friday (August 12).

The pair appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Saturday (August 13) and will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on September 13.

The charges relate to an incident at the Renaissance Hotel in Bath Road, Hounslow, on Friday (August 12).

Police said a group of people rammed through the back entrance door and stole an ATM from the lobby at around 1am, before driving away in a BMW.

Suspects ended up in a ditch

Three police cars were involved in a car chase that resulted in all three being involved in collisions.

Police said one of the cars they were pursuing ended up in a ditch, with one occupant abandoning it.

The ATM was recovered from the abandoned car.

The Air Support Unit helicopter assisted police in tracking the suspect vehicle to Ashford in Surrey.

Police enquiries continue into whether any cash had been taken from the ATM and to establish the number and whereabouts of the other suspects.
