Armed police swooped on a car in a busy road in Fulham and recovered a gun from the scene.

Police officers, including firearms officers, stopped a vehicle in Fulham Palace Road at around 9pm on Thursday (October 20).

Two men inside the car were arrested and taken to a west London police station where they remain in custody.

A firearm was recovered.

Metropolitan Police say they cannot provide further information due to “ongoing operational reasons”.

The arrests come in the same week a woman discovered a bullet hole in a window of her home in Ladbroke Grove . The occupant of the flat thought she had heard fireworks on Sunday (October 16) but discovered damage to her home the following day.

Police were called and found evidence of a discharge of a firearm outside her address.

Detectives from the Trident Gang Crime Command are now investigating.
