Twickenham police incident: Cordon lifted as man remains in hospital after gunshots heard

Police confirmed the cordon on the A316 Chertsey Road has been lifted and no arrests have been made

Metropolitan Police has confirmed a cordon put in place along the A316 has been lifted.

Officers were called to the scene at just before 10.50pm on Tuesday night (August 1) to reports of shots heard in Chertsey Road, Whitton .

Upon arrival, officers found evidence of a discharge of a firearm, but no one injured.

At just after 11pm, police were informed of a male having attended a west London hospital with a gun shot wound and police confirmed they were linking the two incidents "at this early stage".

According to the police, the man remains in hospital but his condition is not life-threatening.


Speaking to getwestlondon , a Met Police spokesman said: "The crime scene is no longer in place, there have been no arrests and the victim is still in hospital."

Around 20 houses were cordoned off between Meadway and just past Gloucester Road.
