A trial date has been set for a mother from Brent accused of posting statements on Facebook which encourage terrorism.

Farhana Begum Ahmed, who is accused of posting the comments under a false name, was told she would stand trial during an appearance at the Old Bailey on Friday (May 19).

She also faces five other terrorism-related charges and will stand trial at the same court on November 6.

The 39-year-old, from Lansbury Close, arrested on in July last year by counter-terrorism officers from Metropolitan police.

Her charges, which she has denied, are one of encouragement of terrorism, three charges of dissemination of a terrorist publication and two charges of terrorist funding.

The mum appeared before at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in April before her trial date was set at the Old Bailey.
